Privacy Policy

Grounds is made by Kaji Labs Corp. If you have a privacy question, contact hi@kajilabs.ca.

What Grounds handles

Grounds handles tennis workout data: workouts, heart-rate summaries and samples, active energy, session time, and estimated forehand and backhand counts. Stroke counts are estimates and may be unavailable for unsupported player profiles.

Location is optional. With your permission, Grounds captures one location at the beginning of a session. It uses Apple MapKit and geocoding to make a private map and location label. Your selected location may be sent to Apple's mapping services to provide that feature.

Where data goes

Grounds stores session and Gallery data on your Apple Watch and iPhone and syncs sessions between those devices. Grounds has no Kaji Labs account or backend, and Kaji Labs does not receive your session data. Grounds has no ads or analytics.

When enabled by you, Grounds saves tennis workouts to Apple Health. Health data is handled under Apple's Health and Fitness privacy controls. When you share a story, your device sends it through the system share sheet only to the app, service, or person you choose.

Retention and deletion

Sessions: Grounds keeps sessions until you delete them in Your Sessions. Deleting a session removes Grounds' copy from your iPhone and sends a deletion to your Apple Watch when it reconnects.

Gallery exports: Grounds keeps saved Gallery creations until you delete them in Gallery. Items you save or share outside Grounds, including copies in Photos, are managed by that destination and must be deleted there separately.

Health workouts: Deleting a session in Grounds does not delete its Health workout. Manage or delete Health workouts in the Health app.

Development-only recordings: Development builds may offer consented contributors a separate diagnostic-recording tool. These recordings are not available in public or TestFlight builds. They remain on the contributor's devices until removed as part of the agreed collection process.

Apple may include app data in device or iCloud backups according to your Apple device and backup settings. Removing a backup copy is managed through Apple's backup controls.

Your choices

You can deny or later change Health, Motion, Location, and Photos permissions in your Apple device settings. Denying a permission can limit the related feature. You can delete Grounds sessions and Gallery creations as described above.
